Electrical problem
2004 Ford Explorer 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

We hit a pothole and our stereo immediately stopped working, then we couldn't put up the windows. The fuse was burned out and when I tried to replace it, twice, the fuse would spark on contact and burn out. What do you think I should do to locate the problem?

The only thing you can do is start tracing wires. If the something has come disconnected and has caused a dead short. Start with checking the power window switch on the driver's side to see if anything has come apart. Also, check under the dash.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

PS: DO NOT put a higher amp fuse in its place just because it may not blow out. If you do that, it could cause an electrical fire.
