2004 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive 55,236 miles

I used to get 20 mpg in town and 25-26 highway.
I am now getting anywhere from 14-17. What would cause this to happen?

whens last time you had a tune up? other then that. might be a good idea to have the o2 sensors checked because thats a decent drop in mileage. tires could need inflation or brakes may be hanging up as well
