My explorer for some time now has had what I thought was excess tire noise and a thumping feel and sound when I back off the throttle. The tire noise seemed to start when I replaced the tires 2 years ago with the same bf goodrich tires that were on from the factory. I had a rear wheel bearing replaced last year, and the noise abated for a time, but is back along with the thumping vibration when I back off. My guess is u-joint or motor mount. What do you think?
