2004 Ford Explorer back brake lights stay on all the time

the car is off and brake lights stay on all the time, I had to diconect the conection under the brake pedal and that turn it off butlights wont turn on when brsking.

Replace or adjust that switch! Called Brake on/off or BOO switch.
