Recently, the door ajar light came on in my truck with no door ajar. Shortly after that the automatic functions on my explorer stopped working. Things like the puddle lights, auto headlamps, locks and seat are among the items not working now. The radio, dashboard and the headlights work with the manual switch. When trying to look at setting of the auto functions in the setup, it reads "data error". Which direction should I focus?

Check your PCM module for the sign of corrosion. PCM is located on the side of the passenger, under the intake malnifolt, or below the hot water pipes those drive the heater core inside of the vehicle. Make sure you remove the negative battery terminal before you remove the PCM. The connector can be unpluged from the outside, but you need to remove the two nut on it. If there is corrosion, clean the connector pins with a contact cleaner liquid. Just spray on the pins and the connector. You may use an electrical brust to clean the connector and the pin.
Good luck,
Tony
