2003 Ford Explorer Driver seat belt

My driver side seat belt won't buckle also the seat belt light on the dash is off it was working fine but one day it just would not click into the slot. I checked the fuses but all are ok. Your ideas will be very helpful.

Sounds like the receiver end (female end) has broken. If the buckle wont lock in, you will need to replace the belt.The indicator is wired to the belt , so the piece that broke may be keeping it from locking
