I have a ford explorer limited, year 2003. It is driven 180,000 km. At around 174,000km i started hearing this noise from the front of the truck under the driver seat. The noise would come at around the 60kmh speed and increase as the speed increases. I took it to a mechanic and he said the wheel bearing needs to be replaced. I got the wheel bearing replaced but the noice was still there. Now i got it checked from another mechanic and he tells me that theres a problem with the differential. Can you please tell me what the problem could be and how i can get it fixed? Some suggest to get a new and revised ring & pinion gearset. Can you tell me what the best solution will be to get rid of the noice?
