Brakes problem
2003 Ford Explorer V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

When I apply the brakes at low speeds, there will be a power surge just before the car stops that causes the car to lunge forward. Of course, the Ford agency is clueless.

It's as if the brakes don't work for a few second, and the car moves forward, then the brakes kick in again.

i would suspect bad ball joints causing the vehicle to surge forward when the vehicle stops.
