Transmission problem
2003 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i need my transmission rebuilt and don't have the funds to pay someone to do it.I am mechanically inclined and have a shop with tools and a lift but never had to rebuild a transmission. Can you tell me , in detail, what to do?

Hi:
First, they are not as hard to rebuild as you would think, so you should be able to do it. Second, purchase a repair manual that provides step by step instructions and exploded views. For me to try to explain step by step allows too much room for error.

Let me know if you run into trouble or have other questions. I hope you understand why I recommend the manual.
