Okay i bought this truck yesterday for $2000 bucks with known tranny problems. The guy i bought i from says he put his computer on it and got these codes; "P1700 which is Trans Intermediate Fault and P0745 which is Trans pressure control solenoid".

My questions:
What do these codes mean?? Can this unit be repaired?? Should i rebuild this unit or put in a used unit?? I found a used tranny locally for $750 with 54000 miles on it.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

155k on a Ford trans, it is probably done. The control solenoid is inside the trans and will cause it to burn up if not working properly.A low mileage used unit would probably be a good idea. Be sure to flush or replace the trans cooler before installing new one

Thanks for the response. Would i be better off having it rebuilt?? If i went that route i would get a warranty. Thanks.
