Is there a difference in a shock/strut assembly and just the strut on this vehicle? My daughter had her vehicle fixed and they put in a USED strut/shock ASSEMBLY along with hub assembly. The strut is bad. It was leaking the next morning. She took it back and they said to put a new one on would be $300 for a new ASSEMBLY or $70 for another used one. I called another dealer and they quoted $80 labor and $76.23 for the part. Are they talking the same thing or two different things?

the assembly is the whole strut assembly. at the dealership they can take it apart and fix just the part that is leaking, whihc would be why their price is lower.
