Oil sending unit, where is it?

Oil gauge is acting funny, it will be fine and then sometimes it just goes to nothing but the motor sounds and runs fine.

The oil pressure switch at left side of engine block. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

The oil pressure-sending unit should be next to the oil filter.

I am looking for a detail diagram as to where I can locate the oil pressure switch, can you help me with this. It is a 6 cylinder motor. I bought the part because I am get erratic readings on the gauge now I have no idea as to where it goes, is it next to the oil filter and if so, where?

Oil pressure sticks with cold start, after a few seconds it jumps up to normal.
