2002 Ford Explorer

I am looking to buy a 02 ford explorer 4.6 V8 and noticed a small oil drip from the front (close to the oil filter). I asked the owner about it and he said that he checked the oil, noticed that it was low, and put two quarts in (too much) and that's why it is leaking oil. I checked the dipstick and was really high (almost double of where it should be. Do you think that this is something to worry about?
Thanks

If the leak is coming from the oil filter, then either the gasket has been smashed from over-tightening, or it isn't tight enough.

If it was just added, and has just sat, I wouldn't be too concerned about problems. I would just drain a little of the oil. If it has been ran for a decent amount of time over filled, there is a chance the oil pump can be burnt up.
