2002 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 90.000 miles

i was driving and then stop to drop my friend i put it in park then i started to proceed and the gear won't change, forward or backward

Hi there, do you have neutral? check that the selector is moving at the gear box, it may be in park and the linkage has failed, if not it will be a tow to an auto specialist.
