Just in the pass few weeks my gas gage will go all the way down to E and check gage light stays on but even when I fill it up with gas is will go to full and then shortly after go all the way to E could this be a fuse going or sensor?

Hi:
Chances are it is the float sending unit. The float is part of the fuel pump in the tank. A rheostat acts as a resister amd sends different amounts of power to the BCM which inturn sends a signal to the gauge. If the rheostat is bad, no signal or an incorrect signal is sent and causes the gauge to act that way.
