2002 Ford Explorer dome light won't turn off

On my 2002 ford explorer xlt when i close the driver- side door the dome lights and mirror lights stay on but will "sometimes" turn off when i lock the doors with the keyless entry remote? Can someone help?

check the little switch/button in the door jamb to see if it is stuck or broken, you may have to take it out to see
