Hi! I have a 2002 Ford Explorer with 116,000 miles. On Monday, my O/D OFF light started flashing, but after stopping the car and restarting, it did not come back on. It is now Thursday, and this morning my BRAKE light came on. Unlike the OD OFF light that flashed at regular intervals, the BRAKE light came on, flashed a bit, stayed solid, went off, and randomly did combinations of those things. The brakes felt fine; the transmission felt fine. Do you think this is an electrical problem? If so, how extensive is the repair and what is the estimated cost?

Thanks!!

Hi:
this could be several different things. Have the computer scanned. Hopefully it stored codes as to the problem. Most parts stores will do it for free.

Let me know what you find.
