2002 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My brake lights will not turn off, even when I dis-connect the battery and reconnect it the brake lights come back on. Where should I begin to look?

check out brake light switch located under drive dash on brake pedal bracket. can be misadjusted or just faulty
