2002 Ford Explorer ac by pass pulley

Installed an ac bypass pulley and the belt now is to tight rubs on tention arm. also notice the pulley is 4 inches wide and the ac pulley is only 3 1/2 in wide. took pulley aff reinstalled ac compressor and belt installed normal. is it possible to get a longer belt or should I have the pulley reducw if possible?

Contact the store you got the part from to confirm it is the correct one for your vehicle. If it is, explaine the problem and they should know if a different belt is needed. However, I don't see why it would be different. The belt may need adjusted on the new pulley so it doesn't touch the tensionier arm.
