2002 Ford Explorer 4WD noises

It seems like my 2002 explorer XLS is always in 4WD.
If I switch from 4 wheel auto to 4 wheel high or low there is the same wining noise that changes with speed, Could it be stuck in 4WD?

You could be in 4wd all the time but more likely is that you have a wheel bearing that needs to be replaced. I would have it checked out.
