2001 Ford Explorer transmission is slipping

It feels like my truck "slides" forward on it's own chassis, after coming to a complete stop. The actual vehicle doesn't move, but there is a definite shift that you can feel after the drive train comes to a stop at lights, etc..
One person told me this was caused by bad shocks. I did a test by "bouncing" the truck at the wheels, but the truck didn't keep bouncing like it does with bad shocks.
Please help if possible.
