2001 Ford Explorer idle

When you start the car it idles rough. Sometimes it dies unless you keep your foot on the gas sometimes if you rev it a few times it stops acting up. I hooked it up to a computer and it does show anything is wrong

It could very possibly be the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve. It is located on the top of your engine.
It looks like this:

If you have a "Junk yard " or "Auto salvage yard" locally you could remove one from an explorer there for short money and see if that solves the problem.
View sketch below for what it looks like and how to remove it.

Unplug the electrical connector indicated by the arrow.

Remove the two bolts (1) and Idle air control valve (2).

Reverse removal procedure to install. Use a new gasket and Torque bolts to (89 lb-ft)
