2001 Ford Explorer idle

hi i have a ford explorer and for a couple of days now ive noticed that when i first start it it wont idle on its own i have to keep my foot on the gas until its warm then it usually will idle on its own . however the other day it wouldnt stay running its been below freezing also i live in minnesota.

First thing you can do and the cheapest thing you can do is replace the coolant temp sensor and hope it goes away, post back what you find.
