my 2001 explorer will not pass the emissions test i have tken the vehicle to two different mechanics , one thinks that the oxygen sensors are bad the other says that the catalyic converter or parts of the catalyic converter need to be replaced . recently i had the egr valve and sensor replaced .at the emmissions testing i was rejected because the catalyic converter said "not ready" . HELP

If they cleared the PCM codes, you will have to drive it about 40 miles fo the monitors to reset. That is probably why the cat "wasnt ready" when they went to test it. did it fail on anything else?
