2001 Ford Explorer 4 wheel drive

When the 4 wheel drive is engaged the front end make clunking noise every 30-45 seconds.

When you hear the noise, does it feel like the front end jump or looses traction for a second? If so, you need to have the hubs checked.

Have not noticed it losing traction. Just feel the front end clunk through the vehicle.
