Is there a adjustment for the linkage between the shiftlevel and transmission? If where can you please advise where it can be found. The shiftlevel says reverse and the car is in park. The shiftlevel in neutral the car is in reverse, in drive the car is in neutral.

Your actual problem is not between the shifter and the trans. The problem is a small cable that connects the shifter to the indicator. It is held onto the steering column with a small plastic mount. I have seen a lot of these break. Try removing the steering column shroud just behind the wheel and see if you can see it broken.
