2000 Ford Explorer front wiper arms

Sorry for the category, but Body wasn't a choice.

The front wiper arms are both loose on my truck. The splines are tight on the spindles, but the arms are loose where the female and male splines fit together. How do I tighten them. The passenger side wiper lifts off the windshield just past the halfway mark.

There should be a locking device that prevents the wiper arms from coming off. If they are that loose, I would just replace them. Chances are they have worn to the point they are at now.
