1999 ford explorer xlt, the oil filter is ripped open?

I cannot remove my oil filter. I believe it was put on improperly when i had my oil changed last. how can i get it off?

well if you can get at.. use a good size screw driver (flat or phillips it dont matter) and use a hammer to pound it trough.. this will give you more levridge and should brake lose.. hope that helps.. jess s.

Huge channel lock pliers arounfd the heavier base plate of the filter. A little heat from a heat gun could help also. :!: [b:c31744c718] No torch![/b:c31744c718] :!:
