Brakes problem
1999 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

When I first apply the breaks, there is a metallic grinding noise and then goes away. Also when I was driving some logging roads when hunting and going about 10 mph and using the breaks alot the metallic noise was so lound that I am sure I scared all the deer away. I pulled the tires and inspected the brakes. There is sufficient pad material and the rotors look fine (no scratches or gouges). Any help is greatly appreciated.
