1999 Ford Explorer Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My explorer ran after running hot it has a knock when idling and driving what could be the problem?

Hi there,

How hot did it get? have you checked the oil pressure yet? if not i would do this and post the readings, cold idle, hot idle and hot 1500RPM.

the gauge went all the way to hot and bubbling in resavor oil pressure is good it knocks cold or and at hot tidle 1500rpm oil pressure is midway of the gauge
