I recently had complications with my radiator and few other components in conjunction with the radiator. I lost a few hundred and it would have cost even more apparently. But I declined to get my head gasket repaired. I was told by that shop that my head gasket was blown. I couldn't see any indication of it. No smoke, no sounds, no smells, and no overheating. I can purchase a head gaket part for about two to three hundred dollars for my model. The amount that those people gave me is in the mid thousands but I don't understand how in the world can the labor be that high to be in the mid thousand. If the part ican be nearly inexpensive. I would be grateful if you could tell me whether or not the cost of the repair sounds accurate or whether that shop sounds untrustworthy.

The parts should be around 200 and labor should be aprox 6 hours X labor rate. A head gasket should not cost in the mid thousands.
