I had the turn signal assembly replaced under warrarnty at 59,500. Several issues were occuring, the most noticible is a loud buzzing on occasion when using the left signal. Also, the Cruise control buttons on the right side of the steering wheel did not illuminate. After the replacement, the buzzing sound stopped and the button lights worked again. After a year or so, I noticed the cruise control buttons not lighting again.
Now I am running into a similar turn signal assembly issue, the left turn signal sometimes stops blinking intermittenly. On a few occasions I have noticed a few whisps of smoke emerge from the steering column at the turn signal assembly location. It appears the part needs replacing and I am wondering how difficult it will be to do the replacment myself.
