1998 Ford Explorer Four Wheel Drive Automatic

AT FIRST TOOK IT TO WARM UP FOR THE OIL PRESSURE TO GO UP WONT GO UP AT ALL NOW. DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE MOTOR OUT TO REPLACE OIL PUMP?COULD IT BE SOMETHING ELES?

You let teh vehicle run to warm up when the oil pressure was at 0!

First disable the ignition and fuel system and hook up a oil pressure guage to the sending unit hole after you take it out.

Crank it then. Do you get any oil pressure? If not the sending unit isnt faulty and your going to have to check the oil pump.

You can do it with the engine in the vehicle. Just get the oil pan off.
