Believe it or not, I need to know whether my 1998 Explorer has an overhead cam or an overhead valve to order the correct muffler replacement. It is a 4L engine. Where do I find the answer?

the easiest way to tell is looking at the vin number. the eight digit is the engine. if your parts guy cant tell by it, then call your ford dealer parts department.
