I keep noticing a clunking noise and it feels like the front left tire is about to come off. Took it to a repair shop thinking it was a wheel bearing or axle but they claim it's the wheel hub assembly and are charging $447.00. Does this sound right to anyone??

Well, the hub assembly is the wheel bearing.
you thought it might be the bearing, and the shop says it's the hub, so it's probably the problem.

and a new hub is 200-350 depending on the quality of the part. so the price they gave you sounds about right
