Transmission problem
1998 Ford Explorer Four Wheel Drive Automatic 100000 miles

How do I unlock my transmission from 4 wheel drive low back to auto 4 wheel drive ? I move the switch but does not respond.

updated 1/9/10
The accuator comes out of low but does not engage back into anything. That tells me there is power, but it just goes to somewhere neutral. Is it still

Chances are the actuator is bad. You need to check if it is getting power to it. It it is, remove it and have it checked.

Let me know what you find.
