My O/D light came on a little over a month ago. Been told that that my transmission is going. So I am afraid to drive it. I didn't show no signs of going out until 2 days later after light came on.
It started to make a soft winy sound and shortly after I was at a stop sign and start to turn and like someone hit me from the rear of my Explorer but no one did.
Is it worse fixing my Explorer if the Transmission is going?

As far as replacement, that has to come from you. Is the car in good condition, still running strong. I just redid a 93 dakota with 220K on it because it always runs good. Basically, I replaced the body and repainted it, but I did it because it has been so dependable.

As far as your vehicle, are you sure the transmission is bad? Have you had the computer scanned to identify where the problem is coming from? If the light was on, the computer identified a problem. It could be a soleniod, sensor. And not the entire transmission. Have that done and let me know what you find. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it is something simple.
