My 97 Explorer has the 4.0 sohc engine. I have a loud rattling/chattering noise coming from the front of the engine. Can't pin point noise but have noticed that if you loosen radiator cap it stops. Water was recently replaced.

Hi:
If it sounds like a metal sound, check all heat shields on the exhaust system.

Also, does the sound change while driving?
