There is a delay when I shift into drive. Sometimes it may go right into drive, other times it may hesitate as long as 10 seconds. Occasionally I've had to shift into 2nd gear just to get it moving, and then shift in to drive. Any idea what is causing this?

I had my transmission serviced in February (approx 5,000 miles ago.)

Thank you!

Hi Julie,

Thank you for the donation.

The trans is acting erratically and here are possible causes.

Fluid level,
Low main line pressure,
Filter assembly (plugged),
Valve body (sticking valves),
Incorrectly tightened valve body bolts (cross -leaks),
Forward clutch
Rear one-way clutch assembly.
