Shakes or Wobbles problem
1997 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my 1997 ford explorer is shaking when I am at a stop light. I have checked all the fluids and everything looks fine. Also there is a odor that seems like a burning smell or a transmission fluid smell. Any help would be very appreciated!

I just had this problem this morning. The engine light began flashing and then turned to steady on. I was stopped and the engine was shaking and this very bad smell that is difficult to describe started coming out. I went about a block where I could park, lifted the hood and didn't see, hear, or smell anything abnormal. The engine light remains on and the engine still shakes slightly but not as bad as it did. Any thoughts?
