I was taking my kids to school and my car started making a loud screeching noise and it smells like rubber burning but I only see one belt and it is not broke, can you tell me what this is?

Could be the belt, was it coming from under the hood? Turn vehicle on and look at the belt and pulleys. Belt turning just fine as with the pulleys?

Take belt off, noise stop when restarted, if so its a issue with the belt or a pulley seized up, or a bearing that went bad.
