1996 Ford Explorer Seeping fluid lose from thru bellhousing

Transmission started leaking due to flex plate failure. After replacement of flex plate, complete new pump assembly, pump adaptor plate, bellhousing (converter bushing), bellhousing to transmission attaching bolts ( with seals). This unit was in and out a number of times and new gaskets were used each time, with methodical cleaning and assembly of same. Front pump to center support shim was verified for clearance and replaced as well. The last R&R the front bellhousing was changed with another one, problem seepage still occured. Last effort taken, pump adaptor plate was coated with shellac sealer, bellhousing to transmission bolts were sealed with black gasket sealant. This vehicle was operated for some time, fluid leakage continues with a loss of about 200 miles to a quart still coming from thru bellhousing to transmission bolts!

Was the torque converter replaced?

Converter was filled with fluid and checked for leakage. Dye had been installed in trans. to make sure converter wasn't leaking. Converter was not changed.

The only thing I can say is the torque converter is bad where it enters the front pump and is causing that seal to leak. There really isn't anything other that would cause that much of a leak.
