Last friday I was driving my car when my check gauge light came on, I noticed my oil gauge was completely down to low, I just had and oil change a week ago, and the oil label is good. In the past I noticed that this same gauge fluctuate from normal to below normal but never to the low point. I sat there for a while, then I started the car the oil gauge came up to a normal position so I drove my car home. But I still don't feel comfortable driving it at all since this happend. Could you tell me what is the problem

Question, did you hear any ticking or knocking when the pressure was low? If not, chances are the oil sending unit is going bad. It is a cheap part and easy to replace.

Let me know.

If you didn't hear any noise from the engine, chances are the engine is fine and the problem is the oil sending unit. That is good news.

Replace it and let me know if it helps.
