The idol on my Explorer is very high when I start the truck up, and when I am stopped at a light or stop sign it is the exact opposite. It wants to stall and almost sounds like a cough. Here as of late, it is getting worse and the battery gauge is starting to jump around and the lights have started to flicker. The truck runs fine when I am actually in motion. The problem is only when Im stopped. Is it just an idol control valve problem? Am I looking at something bigger?

Clean out the idle air control valve and clean the mass air flow sensor with an approved cleaner and test the throttle position sensor
