All Explorers have distributor-LESS ignition. There is no timing setting. There is a camshaft position sensor on the rear of the engine on the 4.0 pushrod engine, but this is not meant to be a timing adjustment. If you have removed the drive unit, you will need to follow a rather lengthy procedure to bring the engine back into time.
