1995 Ford Explorer stalls out

i have a 1995 ford explorer with a 4.0L it stalls out when you start it cold or hot it ildes good when you start it but when you give it gas to take off it bucks and carrys on then stalls you will do this 4 to 5 times then it starts up and runs great till you shut it off please help me fix this problem thanks

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?
