My suv will only idle,it dies out when i try to rev up the motor even if i just pat the gas pedal. I checked the fuel system and the psi was correct with just the key on and also when it idled. I changed out the map sensor ,did not help. I tried to hook up a tester to read the codes but it would only tell me that there was a linking error. Now i am stuck not knowing what to do . Any suggestions ?

Clean the mass airflow sensor with an approved cleaner and test the throttle position sensor and crankshaft position sensor-
