The truck I drive every day was a fixer. I paid 60.00 for it because it had a bad spot on the frame. I use it every day.
Now for your issue. Look up the value of the vehicle on KBB. Com and then determine how much it will cost to fix. Don't exceed the book value of the vehicle. If you can do it for a lot less, and you know where the parts are you need, then it wouldn't be a bad idea. Remember, however, if the engine isn't running, you have no idea of the condition of the trans, transfer case, drive line. Keep that in mind when you make an offer.
