Transmission problem
1995 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I was wondering I am looking to source out a used tranny for my explorer. I was wondering what year range will fit my vehicle. I am also wondering if the transfer case is divorced or not. If you could please help me out. I want to have some infor before I call around.

I know explorers and mountaineers have a nice year spread for parts compatibility. I have a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer and pulled parts from 1998 - 2000 explorers or mountaineers.
Junk yards or auto salvage yards will "absolutely" know the years of compatibility for both the transmission and T case.
