1994 Ford Explorer oxygen sensor?

i have a 1994 ford explorer and when we press the gas, the car doesn't want to go. it spartknocks. i was wondering if replacing the o2 sensor would help the problem. or maybe the egr valve?

Clean out the EGR valve make sure its functioning correctly and see what happens
